    Fad diets are only temporary solutions to weight loss. They may adversely affect your body's metabolism such that your body will learn to maintain its weight despite your calorie restriction. Stopping a fad diet often leads to ultimate weight gain, not weight loss. Worse, switching from one fad diet to another often leads to eating disorders, such as food addiction, anorexia and bulimia.
