Chalets are similar to holiday apartments because these can be rented on a weekly basis and the family will have a greater measure of privacy. And finally, Zermatt has camping sites. If the skiers are up to the challenge, they can stay in these camping sites.

The attraction in Zermatt is in its location. The village and the mountain slopes are protected from the thawing effects of the wind. Snow conditions remain excellent. And the result is an extremely long skiing season. The skiers can reach the slopes through the network of transport facilities that include ski-lifts, gondola lifts, mountain railways, and cableways. And if the more experienced skiers would dare, there is helicopter skiing or heli-skiing led by professional guides. Heli-skiing is a winter extreme adventure. As an advanced skier, this is one challenge that you would not miss. You experience the thrill of a helicopter ride and will see the majestic beauty of the Matterhorn Mountain. Then, the exhilarating steep downhill skiing will be one of the most unforgettable experiences of your life.

Skiing happens in Zermatt even during summer. If you are not a ski enthusiast, the Zermatt is still a great vacation destination because there are other interesting things to do. There are footpaths and hiking trails for those who enjoy hiking. There is no need to worry about food because there are numerous mountain cabins and restaurants. There is also the incredible Matterhorn Glacier Palace where visitors will experience wine tasting while they are 15 meters deep under a glacier. For those who have an almost lover-like relationship with their cameras, the best areas to visit are the Rothorn Paradise, the Schwarzsee Paradise, and the Gornergrat. And for those who are traveling with children, one of the must-see places in Zermatt is the Forest Fun Park.
