What’s your favorite way of spending your free time? Statistics say that if you ask that question to men with ages between eighteen and thirty-four, the answer you are most likely to get is playing computer games. The same goes for women, only that the proportion is considerably smaller.

Playing a game on your computer may not be the most educational way of spending time, but it sure is fun. You enter a whole new world where you set off for adventure, a world where you are the hero and you decide what happens next. How many times have you wished that the same were possible in real life, just as it is in a computer game?

Every game is a challenge. If we are talking about sports games, the challenge is obvious, namely that of outperforming your opponent and eventually winning. Take football games, for instance. Football is the most loved sport in the world. Any large competition gathers millions of people from all over the world in front of their TV sets, watching and betting on the final outcome of each football match. At a smaller scale, football is the most popular sport in many countries worldwide. Playing a football game on the computer give people the chance to have access to the competition that they can only observe in real life. And once again, it all comes down to calling the shots and being the best there is, either against the computer or against an opponent from the real world.

Then there are the adventure games, where everything that happens is a surprise and you can’t wait to take your game to the next level. Needless to say that when the adventure is over, most players can’t wait to move on to the next adventure game, because the unknown always keeps everyone connected and eager to discover what follows.

Those who like to put their mind at work rather than their fingers certainly prefer quests. This type of game is not about being the first to push the button in record time, but more about paying attention to all details and hints, and developing strategies.

Some computer games create a global community of players, who have to join efforts in order to reach a certain point or outcome in the game. This is all the more appealing to people who are passionate about playing games on the computer, because such games create a sense of teambuilding and joining forces with a definite purpose. And when a goal is set, the challenge that a game offers is all the more exciting.

There are also the less demanding games, those that people usually play to relax and have fun. Needless to say that those in the game industry have got everything covered, and that there is something new and exciting every day.

When it comes to having access to the most recent and popular games on the market, things may get a little complicated. It’s true that you can purchase a game, but why do that when you can rent games and play them as long as you like, or as many as you like? And when you are tired of one game, you can always move on to the next, without having to go to any trouble at all to get it.
