A diabetic diet is the best way for many diabetics to help keep their blood sugar at a normal healthy level. If you consume too much sugar and continuously do this for a long time, you will soon develop many major health problems to your eyes, kidney, nerves and heart. So once a diabetic finds that their blood sugar level is way too high, they need to find natural ways to bring their blood sugar down to a better position.

Blood sugar is a way to measure the amount of glucose in your blood. Glucose is where your body gets most of its energy. Your body uses the insulin hormone, which is produced by the pancreas, to process glucose. A body that doesn't produce insulin cannot turn glucose into energy, which can cause serious physical and mental problems.

Severe symptoms low blood sugar are potentially fatal so immediate medical treatment must be provided to the patient when any of them occur.

Don't skip meals and eat more frequently during the day. By leaving out a meal or not eating frequently enough you stop supplying your blood with glucose. Your blood sugar will drop and that causes intense sugar cravings.

Vitamins - C, B and E

Vitamin C and vitamin E help get sugar out of the blood stream and into the cells, keeps the blood vessels healthy and help protect against kidney damage and heart attack.

Vitamin E may improve the body's response to insulin. Biotin (a B group vitamin) can lower blood glucose; B6 and B12 along with Folic acid also may help prevent diabetic complications.

The vitamins from the B complex are useful in the treatment of diabetes because they reduce the cholesterol and blood fat.

If you can keep, your blood sugar levels as close as possible to normal, you can live a normal and healthy life with few or even no complications at all.
