How does food affect skin?
There exist different types of cuisine all over the world, when cooking started it mainly concentrated on what was found commonly in the geographical area, somehow, cooking what was commonly available suited health and skin care. However, we have experimented with food and came to a point where instead of consuming commonly available food we started gorging on junk food.
Skin care and junk food do not match; in fact junk food is not healthy food at all. It is highly refined resulting into faster digestion and high level of fat mixing with the blood system. Junk food is traditionally low in fiber; this did not allow cleaning of bowel and removal of toxins through the body.
Junk food is low in nutrition; therefore, this affected overall health and skin care. People became fat, body contained high level of toxins and the toxins could not really be removed and resulted into skin affected with acne and pimples.
Digestion is basically because of stomach acids mixing with food, when you eat spicy food, it adds to the acids and you get the GERD, this also puts lot of heat into the body, body starts releasing oils and toxins faster than it should and it results into pimples and acne again.
So for excellent skin quality your skin care routine should include healthy food along with the junk. You can enjoy the junk food one time a week and your body will not complain. You can start skin care from here!
What are ‘skin care’ foods?
There are so many foods that can be classified as skin care foods; there are fiber rich foods which help you with digestion and removal of toxins from the body. It has been scientifically proven; people who eat fiber rich food are healthier than those who eat junk food.
You can start by combining a plate of salads in your daily food, your salad can contain cabbage, onions, tomatoes, olives, radishes, lemon, coriander, etc., the list is endless. Making a good dish of salad or eating these in their complete form anything is alright if you enjoy it. In many cultures around the world, especially among vegetarians, eating salads raw or after combination of different salads is quite common.
Your skin care regimen should also include eating freshly cooked food, avoiding eating red meat regularly, instead try and use more of pulses and legumes, these provide as much nutrition and also contain the healthy fiber.
You can also switch to eating brown bread which is rich in fiber rather than eating the normal bread, which is made of refined flour which has negligible fiber content. Skin care demands that the food has fiber, so that the bowels are cleaned better and the toxins are flushed out regularly.
If you care for your skin and want to look younger for longer, skin care should include health food.
