A good package leads to a profitable sale. When you sell a book or some software, you should have a nice package for it. As the product is made of bytes, so is the package. There are three possible ways to produce a virtual cover:

- Ordering it from somebody

- Picturing it yourself in Photoshop

- Employing some fancy dedicated software

The first option looks pretty straightforward. If the designer knows something about 3D, they will bill you quite a bit. Each new box shot or ebook cover will Cost up to $160. Using Photoshop is okay if you know how to make the program do what you want from it. Sure, the task will necessitate obtaining a few action scripts that could cost you another Benjamin. And remember the value of Photoshop: it will rob you of $600. A simpler 3rd solution is to find yourself some boxshot software. It is good to learn that the market of such products is huge with the prices at $15-100. There are a lot of programs to choose from. If we group these offerings, we will be left with 3 types:

- Pre-made templates, no free rotation

- 3D with polygonal rendering

- 3D with ray tracing

Going with the first choice, you make sure that boxshots and e-book covers will look nicely, but the selection of tools will be very small. Making big changes will not come easy to the software box or ebook cover. The second option gives you more freedom, but the simplified model produces unnatural shadows. You will not require a specialist to notice that the pictures look unrealistic. The third choice does not suffer from such drawbacks. Special effects are calculated for every pixel. In the end, you get a very realistic image. The 3rd type is the best if you want to achieve some flexibility in developing your boxshot software. Box Shot 3D is a nice example of a program of the kind. At 40 euros the program is extremely affordable. It will assist you in making excellent images of your books and boxes, member cards and more. You can see a couple of images underneath of ebook covers and software boxes. It will be quite a bit of work to deliver the same level of quality in Photoshop unless you possess some additional scripts. You will not come across many programs that can deliver such a result. The room for creativity is almost absolute, modify what you want. No boxshot or ebook cover should be produced without Box Shot 3D. It will provide your product with a very cool wrapping. Attract the prospect with style. Choose Box Shot 3D and never regret it.
