President Obama's Christianity

President Barack Obama in a rare discussion about his religious beliefs (some time ago), described himself as a "Christian by choice" who arrived at his faith in adulthood. That's because (according to him), "the precepts of Jesus Christ" helped him envision the kind of life he wanted to lead.

Obama talked about his beliefs when he was asked, "Why are you a Christian." The question was posed by a woman at a backyard conversation here, part of a series of meetings Obama is holding to talk informally with Americans.

Many conservatives and some political opponents have questioned Obama's Christian faith. In fact, a Pew Research Center poll in August found that 18 percent of people properly believe that Obama is a Muslim. This is up from 11 percent who said so in March 2009. Just 34 percent said they thought Obama is Christian. There is only one way to become a Christian and that is through Jesus Christ only (John 14:6; 10:9). "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture." Apostle Paul wrote, "And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him." It must be by the one way and door of Christ Jesus our Lord.

President Obama has already said in the past. "I believe there are many paths to the same place, and that is a belief that there is a higher power." This statement alone disqualifies him as a true Christian according to Scriptural or Biblical standards. Do I need to point out that he is the most pro abortion president ever? The murder of the innocents is also not a Christian act no matter what anybody says. So let God be true; as He is alone, and every man be seen as a liar.

Cathleen Falsani, the author of The God Factor: Inside the Spiritual Lives of Public People, interviewed Barack Obama about his faith March 27, 2004, a few days after he clinched the Democratic nomination for the U.S. Senate seat that he eventually won. Because of the intense interest in Obama's faith, she has now made the entire interview available uncut and in its entirety.

What emerges is a man who is not comfortable discussing spiritual matters, and is a spiritually confused theological eclectic. He is clearly not a Christian by any biblical and historical measure by any church. He repeatedly affirms and then denies Christ, he also says that he believes but is filled with doubt. Obama's faith reflects the Universalized beliefs of his grandparents. The fact that he felt comfortable in Trinity United Church of Christ, one of the most radical churches in one of the most liberal denominations, is entirely understandable.

When Falsini asks, "What do you believe?" Obama effectively calls himself a Buddhist, agnostic, Muslim, Jewish, and Christian. If you read the whole interview you will see a person who seems to be trying very hard to not take a stand on the Christian faith, yet at the same time tries to identify himself as a Christian.

Many claim the name Jesus and yet they are not be saved. There are thousands who call themselves Jesus name believers in many countries but this does not save one. Faith without resounding action is dead, said James. Anyone can say that Jesus was a good man yet that does not save them. In John 14:6 Jesus said to him, "I am the Way and the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father but by (through) Me." He wasn't or isn't kidding. You better believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God. He is the sovereign master of the universe and everything in it. He hates sin and all rebelliousness towards God. He came to die for our sins and said that if we would turn to Him, acknowledge our sins, and believe (as shown in our baptism in His name only) in Him; that He would forgive our sins and the death on the cross at Calvary would be our sacrifice for our sins. He then would become Our Lord over our lives forever more. This is the true witness.

No man who calls Christ Jesus his Lord and Saviour will acknowledge any other way but His. To do so would be following an Unchristian or evil spirit. "For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness." (2 Thessalonians 2:7-12) The cure or antidote for the Antichrist spirit is in 2 Thessalonians 2:15-17. "Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle. Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, Comfort your hearts, and establish you in every good word and work." Jesus alone is the way to God. There have been many deceivers and Obama is simply just another for political or personal gain. "For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an Antichrist." (2 John 1:7) Paul forewarned everybody that this would come to pass one day. "For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple." (Romans 16:18)

Are you trusting the Almighty God or a weak willed man? "Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD! Yet he also is wise, and will bring evil, and will not call back his words: but will arise against the house of the evildoers, and against the help of them that work iniquity. Now the Egyptians are men, and not God; and their horses flesh, and not spirit. When the LORD shall stretch out his hand, both he that helps shall fall, and he that was helped shall fall down, and they all shall fail together." (Isaiah 31:1-3) Pharaoh saved nobody but instead led to bondage. Yet God overthrew his works as He will do to this self appointed Pharaoh. Pride brings only shame and contempt. Don't be fooled. God is never mocked or deceived by anything or anyone (though man is easily). "Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting." (Galatians 6:7-8) The choice is yours to believe or be deceived.
