Playa del Carmen is a small town bustling with activity and is very famous as a spot for destination weddings in Riviera Maya. It has many restaurants and boutique hotels. The only difference between Playa del Carmen and Cancun is that the main area for tourists is concentrated in and around the 5th Avenue and only entry to pedestrians is allowed. Couples can arrange and schedules their marriage ceremonies in any of the hotels on the beach or clubs.
There is a gated community by the name of Playacar, on the southern most end of the town which houses the various hotels, beach resorts and the golf course in Playa del Carmen. There are many skilled photographers who live in the town and take their clients to different locations suitable for photography according to various occasions and styles.
In Playa del Carmen there is a beautiful front beach chapel that is located on the 5th Avenue which can host ceremonies for a small crowd. For ceremonies with large crowds, there are several other churches in the town. There are some hotels in the town which have private beach clubs in which the ceremonies can be hosted depending on the preference of the person who is hosting the wedding.
Riviera Maya or the Mayan Riviera can be termed as a coastal strip which extends from Puerto Morelos to Tulum and is approximately 75 miles in length. It is considered to be the nature's paradise merging into the Caribbean sea. Riviera Maya is well known for its fresh water pools in caves in the midst of the jungles popularly known as cenotes.
There are luxurious hotels all along the coast in Riviera Maya which have all the facilities for large scale functions and ceremonies. Riviera Maya is considered an excellent location for weddings and various other grand functions. People who wish to make their weddings memorable come to this place to get the ceremony conducted. There are many churches along the coast which have the facility to get the ceremony done and then the reception can be hosted at any of the hotels in the adjoining locality.
