Obesity has become an epidemic on a global scale and poses one of the greatest threats to human health and well being as the 21st century approaches. The World Health Organisation has declared that obesity is a disease of pandemic significance, which threatens the developing world as well as developed countries.

The leaves of jujube or Indian plum are considered valuable in getting rid of excess body fat. Soak a handful of jujube leaves in water and keep them overnight. Drink this water next day in the morning, on an empty stomach. Do it for about a month or so, to achieve the gain in terms of a slim trim figure.

Horse gram is rich in iron it helps in keeping you in good body weight and is very effective in controlling obesity. Soak one-two tablespoon of it in a glass of water and allow it to rest overnight and take the soaked solution every morning in an empty stomach.

Your food must contain at least one bitter or pungent food. This must be cooked minimally to maintain the juices intact. The bitter gourd and the bitter variety of drumstick are beneficial in this aspect.

Nature gave men a balanced body, but way wrong food habits some of us tend make cartoons of ourselves. There being a weight-energy ratio, the more obese a person is, the more energy his body consumes merely to maintain itself and the sum of energy left for other activities is proportionately reduced. You would notice that those who live by manual labour seldom suffer from corpulence: it is the leisured class, with nothing much to do but too much to eat who become fat.

For a fast, easy, and absolutely healthy way to lose a lot of weight - eat fruits and vegetables. There was a diet invented in the 1920s by a doctor, called the catabolic diet. It consists mainly of fruits and vegetables. This diet actually causes more weight loss than any other type of diet, and is actually more effective than fasting or starvation! The reason for this is that these kinds of foods burn more calories to digest than are actually in the foods themselves.

Every morning, have a few drops of lime juice in some water and honey. Do this on an empty stomach.

Honey is an excellent home remedy for obesity. 10 grams of honey should be taken with hot water in the starting and the doze can be increased with the time. This is excellent home remedy for obesity.

The leaves of jujube or Indian plum are another valuable remedy for obesity. A handful of leaves should be soaked overnight in water and this water should be taken in the morning, preferably on an empty stomach. This treatment should be continued for at least one month to achieve beneficial results.
