Great Credit Information is Only a Click Away

Article Summary: The world of credit has changed immensely since the advent of the Internet. More consumers are going online these days to search and review their credit records and make credit repairs.

If you surf the Internet for more than an hour a month, chances are very high that you've seen your share of ads hawking free credit repair or free credit reports. They seem to be everywhere.

Unless you live in a cave or under the age of 18 you should have learned by now that hardly anything is free these days. Everything comes at a cost. Even the right to use search engines like Google or Yahoo for free, is really not free. Because there business models are centered on advertising and advertising dollars, search engines results pages are more and more leaning towards favoring the sites of big companies over the little guy and great independent websites. If you don't believe me go to Google.com and perform a search on car insurance or credit reports and you'll see what I mean. Nothing but big name-brand, trademark companies listed on the first page of the page resutls.

Although the use of a search engine might be free, it might take you hours of digging to find what you really want on a specific term, like bad credit, for example. Great resource sites like All-Credit-Info.com often get overlooked in search engine rankings. But this doesn't mean they are not good websites for finding useful and helpful how-to information on subjects like credit, bad credit, credit repair or credit reporting agencies.

There are a few firms that do provide you with one free copy of your credit report from each of the major credit reporting bureau's, but what the average Joe doesn't know is that you can contact these credit reporting services directly and request a free copy of your credit report anytime someone refuses to provide you credit or extend a loan based on their examination of your credit report.

What Internet sites that push the "free credit report" sales pitch really want is your name and email address. For once they get it they will begin hounding you on a regular basis, trying to sell you on the concept of subscribing to a monthly service that will send you a copy of your credit reports from all 3 major credit reporting services each month. Their sales pitch is based on the fact that you always need to know what is in your credit report. Granted, during these days of credit card fraud and identity theft you'd rather be safe than sorry. In short, its not a bad idea. But it does come at a price!

What I like about credit information sites like All-Credit-Info.com is that they are information-only sites. The site doesn't sell anything. Most independent websites focused on credit are merely affiliate sites that are trying to make a commission off of recommending one of the "free credit repair" service to you. Once you subscribe they get a monthly commission. But this is not the focus of All-Credit-Info.com. They simply publish excellent articles and news items that focus on credit.

In summary, the next time you are in need of useful information about credit or other consumer products and services, don't get caught up in the search engine advertising game and be lured into one of the Fortune 500 sites. Instead, scan a few small independent websites that are listed further down the search engine rankings. Many of these websites are more likely to have what you're looking for online.
