Depending on the type of party you are speaking at, there are various ways to go about it, but there are even more ways not to go about it all. On a wedding you should never ever mention old girl- or boyfriends. You never know if it is something the bride and groom has discussed, or worse, argued about. A speech at a wedding should only be filled with positives, although small humoristic side notes may work in your favor. Sit down and figure out what you know about both the bride and groom, even if you only know one of them well. You should always try to include both parties in your speech, as one of the functions of it is to welcome the other half to the family. This is true even if you are not part of the family; a warm welcoming feeling is what you should strive after in a wedding speech.
At a birthday party, or any other party for just one person, you can be a bit more creative 每 But many of the same rules apply; always try not to go over that fine line between humor and insults. If you are going to talk about a persons flaws, make sure the humor in it is very clear, not to say obvious. The important thing isn＊t necessarily that it is funny, but everyone should be very clear it is humor and not simple insults and nonsense.
For people who just can＊t see themselves writing a speech, there is help. A good idea is to ask a friend or someone in your family to help you, another idea is to buy a speech from a writer. Just make sure you are absolutely sure no one at the party may have heard the speech before, which may be highly embarrassing 每 but easily avoidable. Most websites selling pre written speeches state where and when the speeches has been sold, make sure you pick a speech not sold to many times or in your neighborhood. If you want to be honest about it, you can start by saying you had to get help to write a speech, you do not need to tell people you have bought it. If, by some odd reason, someone has heard the speech before, this way you are in the clear.
