If you weren't already aware, freaking out is the worst thing a girl can do when she gets dumped. Although intense emotions are a natural response to a breakup, especially on the female's behalf, putting on an emotional display just isn't the best way to get him back. In fact, showing no emotion at all is the best thing you can do at this point.

So go ahead and get ready to accept that for whatever reason, he doesn't want to be with you right now. Chances are, he is just having some personal issues and needs time to deal with them. It doesn't matter what it is, just know that the best thing for you to do is to back away right now. As far as he is concerned, things just weren't going the way he wanted them to. It's okay to cry, just don't let him see you do it.

Do not call him or attempt to establish any sort of contact with him for right now. It's going to be hard, but the only way to get through this phase is to keep yourself busy. If you want to get him back the right way, you must realize that there are more things in life besides him. He has to know that he doesn't have power over you. Sit down and think about what else in life that appeals to you. No one has ever said this was going to be easy, at least not for the first few weeks, but this is something you have to do. Consider it a requirement. Who else in your life makes you laugh and brings happiness to your heart? Start spending more time with them.

The next part is where it gets even more harder and realistic. Think about how much you care about him. Do you really want to get him back? Seriously, do you? Ask yourself if he is really even worth your time. After all, it is him who dumped you. Make the decision if this is what you really want because if there is a chance that he has moved on from you, then this whole thing may not be worth it.

If he has gotten involved in another serious relationship, again, do not freak out. Just leave him alone. If he sincerely cares for you, he will be the one who contacts you. Do not worry about this whole process taking forever. At the very longest, it shouldn't take any longer than a couple of months. What can be more mysterious than a guy breaking up with a girl, and then her never contacting him to ask why or anything? It's very puzzling, and therefore, it's also very intriguing.

Another thing you want to be weary of is hooking up with another guy. If your ex does make an attempt to contact you but receives word that you are involved with someone else, he may assume that you happier without him and no longer interested in him. If you do decide to go out with another guy and still want to get him back, make sure that the guy understands your feelings for your ex and also understands that you just want to be friends. Also make sure that your ex doesn't hear about it.

Eventually, if he truly cares for you, he will write or call. Take advantage of the contact he has made and suggest that you two meet up somewhere together as friends. Take things slowly and just be there for him when he needs you. All of this waiting will pay off in the end, and you will get him back for good.
