Front Sight Firearms Training Teaches Self-Defense in Bank Robbery

Article Summary: Front Sight is a resort like training facility in Nevada that teaches people how to defend themselves against the most unlikely of criminals: senior citizen and child bank robbers.

Front Sight Firearms Training Institute in Nevada (near Las Vegas), created by “Millionaire Patriot” Ignatius Piazza, provides world-class self-defense training for people who are tired of being victims or potential victims. These days, when crossing the street is a gamble with your life, smart citizens are training at Front Sight so they can be prepared for any situation.

Bank robbery has long been a favorite way of making money for some criminals and while half of bank robberies in the United States are committed by drug addicts desperate for money and a third by veteran bank thieves who wield the requisite gun, a new type of bank robber has been turning up in the new lately: J. L. Roundtree 91 years old, walked into a First American Bank in Texas and handed the teller a note reading ''Robbery.'' Roundtree left the bank with a mere $1,999; Sally Ann Smith, 56 and described by a neighbor as ''a wonderful, caring and loving person, and a devoted grandmother,'' was arrested in Arizona on charges of robbing two banks at gunpoint; a 12-year-old boy robbed $30,000 from an East Village branch of Citibank after passing a note that read, ''Give me the money or I'll shoot you.'' He was later arrested and his mother charged for putting him up to it (Warren St. John, NYT).

It may seem cute and funny but the stories illustrate that criminals come in all shapes, sizes and ages and like all criminals, even the “Grandpa Bandit” who seems like a harmless old man, are unpredictable in their actions, especially if they become desperate. Front Sight was created by Ignatius Piazza, who more than a decade ago experienced being a victim for the first time in his life. A drive-by shooting in his San Francisco neighborhood instilled in him a passion for self-defense, not just for himself or his closest friends and loved ones but also for all peoples of the United States.

Front Sight offers an array of classes from handgun, rifle, and Uzi training, as well as a martial arts defense course that trains how to use specific, key techniques to ward off an attacker, and courses specifically for the family and for children and teens ranging from 5 years old to 15 years old. Of all the bank robbers mentioned in the above story, it is the 12-year old boy that is the most frightening. A child this young has not learned how to keep his cool in intense situations; training from Front Sight teaches the average citizen danger signs to look for, as well as how to use gut instinct to prepare the body for self protection.

Ignatius Piazza founded Front Sight because he understands that violence is random and people need to be prepared for any situation, whether it is crossing the street or standing in line at the bank. He designed the classes to include lectures for theoretical learning, and hands- on training for practical use in any situation.
