Article Summary: No more mucking around, this is the secret to loosing fat fast. No more counting carbs.

When it comes to excess fat, many people think that calories are the problem. It is reasonable to assume that more calories (energy) leads to more fat. Following this way of thinking, people then try to loose fat by cutting daily calories.People believe that fat loss math works something like this: If they usually eat 3000cal/day and then reduce it to 2000cal/day, they will loose the 1000cal difference in fat. That way of thinking is misguided at best. It would be more accurate to say, "grossly mistaken".

People think that fat loss math works something like this: If they usually eat 3000cal/day and then reduce it to 2000cal/day, they will loose the 1000cal difference in fat.is the body goes into starvation mode. This is a bit like hitting-the-wall in the fat loss race. The body just won't seem to loose any more weight, whatever your calorie reduction is. This may be an intimately recognizable chain of events... perhaps in someone known really well: A) They see themselves in their reflection looking bigger than usual or, their cloths are extra tight. B) They are upset with their self and their situation and decide to do something about it. C) They resolve to keep on going until they are happy with their self again.

So, they start missing meals and reducing calories. The aim is to starve their self until the fat comes off. After all, they believe that calories are the issue. This is what we call a 'starve diet'. Which puts the "die" in diet! After some time, the resolve dampens as hunger sets in. People start feeling tired, weary and weak. This is because their body isn't used to missing meals and being without energy. Although people feel terrible, they often 'soldier on' to reach their goal of slimmer and not be a 'loser'.

The sad thing is that things usually get worse. It's not just stomach pangs but also headaches that come. Not wanting to quit, many people will go for days if not weeks like this. Unfortunately, at the end of it all people usually aren't much better off. They are often carrying the same amount of fat and their body is a similar size.

When it comes to excess fat, many people think that calories are the problem. It is reasonable to assume that more calories (energy) leads to more fat. Following this way of thinking, people then try to loose fat by cutting daily calories.

All this is exactly why starve diets will not reduce a person's weight after only about 2 weeks of fat loss. Calories can be reduced further but their body only gets used to this level also. Eventually people become so low on energy and lethargic they can either only lie around all day or give up. This should explain why anyone you know (including yourself) have never been able to lose fat and keep it off by using a starve diet. It is simply not a good long-term solution.

Proper fat loss results from a much smarter diet. It is about people feeding themselves the correct types of calories at the right time each day. The body is like a car. It needs all the right amount of ingredients to work. Just like a car needs oil, water and fuel, the body needs calories from carbs, protein and fat in differing amounts and different times.
