If you are in a field where you are marketing your products or your services to veterinarians, you already know that your clients are almost always busy and that unless you can get their attention that they are going to move on to someone else! When you are looking to make sure that you are getting the message across to your veterinarian clients, you will find that you need to make sure that you have the right list, that is, a good reference for the people who are interested in your services and that will be interested in hearing what you have to say.
Remember that when you are selling your services to veterinarians that they are busy and the services that they perform are going to be varied and to make things even more confusing, they are gong to be changing them from time to time. A veterinary office that once only offered to take care dogs and cats might suddenly expand to birds and reptiles, and you can bet that their needs will expand, too. When you are looking to market to veterinarians, remember that you need to have good contact information
When putting together your list, remember that the more contact information that you have, the better. Take all of the contact information that they are willing to give, and make sure that you can communicate with them in this way. Remember that if they have a way of communicating, no matter what it is, you need to be able to use it to work with them. This means that you need to keep on top of how they are reaching out to touch you, so make sure that you are ahead of the game on this particular subject.
When dealing with veterinarians, you will find that the best way to reach the office or the individual is usually through direct mail, through a telemarketing phone call, and finally through email. Keep in mind, though, that this is just a guideline and that various different veterinarians and veterinary offices will change. Do yourself a favor and keep good notes on what different offices respond to. Mark it down if they only communicate via phone or email, and make sure that this is how you address them.
When you are marketing to veterinarians, there are definitely some things that you can do to keep the lines of communication ope. Make sure that your list is NCOA validated against the National Change of Address; this can keep it from turning up bad or defunct information.
Take some time to stay on top of your client base; remember that you aren't going to get anywhere if you can't talk with them!
