There are a few natural toothache remedies which are capable of relieving tooth pain fairly quickly. Sooner or later the vast majority of us will suffer with a toothache, so it can be important to know what these remedies are.
I have had this problem myself a few times in the past and as you will probably know, toothache is no fun. The simple and most obvious answer is to go and visit the dentist.
Although this may not always be an option due to a number of reasons.
Firstly there is the cost. A dentist can be really expensive, and if you don't have the money, or insurance, then you are pretty much stuck.
The second problem is that the dentist may not be open for business when you need it the most. I don't know about you, but in my case, it seems that my toothache tends to come up during the holidays when most dentists are shut.
The third reason is that you may simply hate going to the dentist, this is the problem in my own particular case. I went through a bad episode with a dentist when I was younger, and to say that it left a negative impression on me is a massive understatement. Even imagining the sound of the drill gives me the shakes.
Fortunately there are some natural remedies for toothache available which can make a real difference to toothache pain.
Here are a few toothache remedies which have helped me in the past.
Clove oil is the toothache remedy that I normally turn to first. You can get it from any pharmacy for very little money. Iput a drop or two directly on to the tooth, and let it travel through it in to the gum. The oil seeps through the tooth, and into the gum. This numbs the nerve, and helps to relieve the painful tooth.
A simple but sometimes effective toothache remedy is salt. This will work if your toothache is of a mild nature, it will not be that effective if the pain is really bad, but it is worth trying. Just add a teaspoon of salt into a glass of warm water and rinse out your mouth.
Another remedy for toothache is not that appealing, but it is pretty effective. Get a clove of garlic and squash it into a paste. Use a bit of water to mash it with. You then put the paste around the painful tooth and the gum area. Just rub in until it is absorbed. Garlic is a natural antibiotic, and can help with a number of ailments.
There are various other toothache remedies that you can use at home, but I have had the best success with these.
It may be the case that your tooth is severely damaged, and you will have no choice but to have it removed. If the damage to your teeth is not that severe, then you should get relief from the pain with the toothache remedies that I have listed. After they have worked for you, make sure that you start taking better care of your teeth, because you really don't want a repeat of this situation.
