What is going to attract people to your blog? You have to drive people to your site. A web-site or blog with only a single page or just a few doesn't rank very high. Start adding content to your blog and keep adding. If you don't have any of your own content, publish music articles or even videos related to your type of music. Remember that it must hold value for your viewers. Think of what would be of interest to people who would like your music! Always remember to get permission for printing articles, often permission is granted right on the site. And always! always! always! give credit to where you found it and keep all links back to their site active
In addition the engineer is responsible for mastering the recordings usually after the session is over. This is often overseen by the producer. Basically the engineer will "balance" the recordings to sound consistent to listening. To elaborate... often when recording, the artists may not sound exactly as you would hear when listening to a finished album. Sometimes the vocals may be a little louder then the music or visa versa. It's the engineer's job to smooth the recordings out. An engineer may also add certain sound effects to a project to reach the "desired sound", sometimes an echo here or synthesized vocals there, etc. It's the engineer's job to polish the recordings to what ever extent. Finally, the engineer will break down the equipment and instruments when the session is over.
A music promoter does just what the title says, they promote concerts. As a music promoter you are responsible for putting the concert on. A music promoter works with either the agent or with the band to arrange the concert. They are also responsible for arranging accommodations for the artists. Some of the other functions of a music promoter are setting up sound check times and the order of the concert. To get into a career as a music promoter, you should contact promoters and venues and offer your services or start with a small artist or band and offer your services to them.
But are you sure? Can you say yes, I know for a fact (blank) career in the music industry is for me. I love the fact, I can make this much money, I love the fact, that I can work with these types of people. I love the fact that I this and that, and so on and so forth. Or are you still at: I love the thought of making this much money, I love the thought of working with these people; I love the thought of this and the thought of that.
Teaching music is another career choice available to you. This is a wonderful profession, which does not require a college degree or certificate. All you require is better than average credentials, word of mouth publicity and the ability to play an instrument. Most first time students are only interested in knowing how to play the instrument rather than being an expert. So you have a great chance of spreading music and earn well too in the profession.
Another place where a decent career can be made is as a disc jockey. Again a line that was not in favor some time back, this career option has really taken off in recent times. Why, I have a friend, Richard, who works in his computer shop in the day, and DJs at night in the club of his choice. He is in it purely for the love of music, and does not charge for his performances (I was lucky to be presented a collection of remixes he had not yet released in the market). Besides the hotel at which he DJs regularly, Richard gets regular invitations from visitors to perform at private dos and occasions where they need really good music. So while he does not earn anything from the hotel, the private invitations add up to decent pocket money for our friend. Of course, he also utilizes his spare time at the computer shop for his music recording and prepare for the evening.
This gives us about 400,000 American songwriters who are qualified to join one of these royalty collection agencies. Now, let's take a look at copyright applications. Keep in mind that most songwriters will never take the time and spend the money to copyright a song. Most don't even know how, why, and where. There are more than 1,000,000 song copyright applications filed with the Library of Congress, each year. About the only thing we have more of than lawyers is songwriters. And, overseas lawyers can't work in the United States. Overseas songwriters can and do.So, is there really a scarcity of songwriters?
