Any of these types of home made candles would thrill your family and friends. Every girlfriend your have, as well as your mother or your sister would love a candle made just for her. Who wouldn't appreciate a candle of their favorite color, with their favorite fragrance, in a container or in a style that enhances their home? Any one would love it!

People have been fashioning candles of one sort or another for thousands of years and candle making was a thing of necessity. If you wanted to have light to see, you needed a candle. Each family made it's own supply of candles. Today's candles are used strictly to enhance a room, to add romance or to add ambiance for a special dinner or an evening or a celebration.

If you really don't have any interest in learning how to make candles that's OK too. There are literally thousands available for sale. Some are manufactured by well known brands like Yankee Candles or White Barn Candles or Diptyque Candles, some are lesser know, those home businesses that we mentioned above. While Yankee Candles have the fragrances that we all know like Christmas Pine or Cookie Dough, designer candles like Diptyque have bolder more sophisticated fragrances such as Garden Mint, Honey, Mimosa and Myrrh.

Clear containers candles are a favorite today. You'll find manufacturers like Yankee Candles, White Barn Candles and Classic Candles making container candles. If you like container candles you should have an electric candle warmer. These warmers are a great invention. Plug it in, but your candle on top and let the magic happen. Without flame you candle will release your favorite scent. These electric candle warmers can be kept plugged in for long periods of time and are much safer than having candles lit. Remember though they work by melting the wax, so you must still be careful using them and always keep them well out of the reach of children.

It doesn't matter which style of candle is your favorite you'll be able to find a lovely candle holder for it. If you like pillar candles, or tea light candles you can find lovely candle holders of wrought iron, glass, plastic, wood, or metal. You can find candle wall sconces in many different styles to enhance your home. These candle wall sconces are a lovely and decorative and a safe way to be able to enjoy candles in your home.

Some of the most popular quality scented candles on the market today are White Barn Candles and Classic Candles Scentsations Candles. These are modestly priced quality scented candles. Don't be surprised though if you see some brands, such as Diptyque selling at $48.00. There is a big difference in quality of candles between makers. There are different types of wax, such as paraffin and natural soy wax, and then different grades of paraffin wax. Candle making is an art that requires attention to detail as wax must be melted to a specific temperature before fragrance and coloring are added. It must then be cooled to a specific temperature before it can be poured into the container or mold. The choice of wick is important. A quality candle will have a long burn life and will burn evenly and cleanly.

When you shop around for candles you'll also see a wide range of prices. In most cases, you do get what you pay for. We've all purchased cheap candles and have been disappointed in the fragrance. Candles such as White Barn, Classic Candles ScentSations and Yankee Candles use high quality scenting agents. This is one big difference. These candles will also emit the fragrance as strongly at the end as it does at the beginning. This is because these candle manufacturers pride themselves on the quality of their candles.
