Furniture Placement becomes very important criteria while decorating your bedroom. You would start with the larger furniture. With that said, where would the Bed fit ?

A natural choice would be --- Length of the bed would be parallel to the longest side of the wall in your room. You would want to place Bed in the center of your room. Make sure you have sufficient room around the four sides of the bed, so that it becomes easy to change the mattresses. Next you would want to place the side tables either side of bed. Side tables with a good table space can also hold night lamps. You may think of placing the entertainment center aligned to opposite wall facing the bed. A TV, Audio system, DVD can easily fit and can be a a good recreation as you relax. You can have wall mounted book shelve side of entertainment center. A study table can easily fit under the book shelve. You can have a ceiling lighting or wall mounted lighting with dimmers by side of you bed. You can place nice landscape photos on the side walls that would add elegance to your bedroom.

Where do you want to put your clothing. Do you have a walk-in closet? Does your closet has compartments? Does your closet has shelves? How much hanging storage you have for your shirts, pants, blazers, coats and suit. How do you want to group your clothes in the closet? Most of the time, you have few clothes that are used for special occasions. They are rarely used. You want to have easy access to your everyday use clothes. Also consider how the closet door lock. Is it a front open closet, where you have easy access to closet area OR is it a double door sliding closet.

Dressing table is important in terms of its location. Its better to have dressing table closer to your closet. Decide whether you want to put a Full view mirror or Half view mirror. How is your vanity box placed around the table.

How are you going to decorate your bed? Its a art. Combination of sheets, pillows, covers, comforters etc reflects your style and choice. Indeed you want to look it best by using great color combination, texture, material and theme. It plays big role making you more relaxed and comfortable. Does your overall bed/color combination match the color of your bedroom walls? and how about ceiling? What is the general pattern it reveals at you. What general mood does the combination show up together as you enter your bedroom? Is it fresh, soothing, cozy and elegant? Combination of pillows --- round, rectangular and button pillows can increase the elegance. Also does the combination match with the carpet or wooden floor? How about going Green? Would you consider putting small plants/pots along side your bed? How about plants bearing small colorful flowers?
