A dental bridge is what exists between the gap side and the false tooth that exist in between them. It's made up of dental crowns which are for the teeth on either side of the gap and basically the false teeth.

Dental bridges are of three types, cantilever bridge which are used when there are teeth on only one side of the gap in the mouth. Basically made of ceramic or porcelain fused to a metal. It's the commonly used type of bridge. Thirdly, the Maryland bonded bridge is made up of plastic and gums supported by the metal framework. It's lower in cost and simple to apply.

The dentist will observe the nature of the gap and decide on the best type to be applied.

Fill the gaps
The dentist will be required to fill adjacent teeth to help accommodate the crowns. The impressions of the tooth are then taken which will help prepare the crowns.

Bond teeth
When the crowns are finished the false tooth will be bonded to them. Once the bridge is complete, the dentist puts / cements it to the teeth permanently. These will put a smile on the face of the patient once more.

Dental Bridge Care
When bridges are taken good care, their life is extended and more so maintains the health of the gums. The natural teeth are also taken protected from further damage. Bridge and flossed regularly as scheduled by the dentist and these will last for as long as five years and over.

Its recommended to visit the dentist as soon as possible whenever the bridge requires repair so it can be fixed .Do not delay repairs because it negatively affect your bite and cause discomfort or even infection. It may also cause a serious dental problem that may become very complicated and expensive to handle. These could automatically mean extra costs to handle the problem.

Cost of Bridges
The type of a bridge will influence the cost associated to the decision of the bridge to be chosen. Normally, geographical location also dictates the cost. But they are cost effective tooth replacement option compared to dental implant.
