My brother is a huge fan of hunting, so recently he bought a cottage up in the Colorado Rockies. The place is really nice, especially for him because it's incredibly rustic, but for the life of him he couldn't figure out what was missing. I said to him after I saw the place that he should think about getting some taxidermy mounts, after all it is a hunting cottage, it is in the mountains, and the cottage itself is very rustic in the fact that it's a log house.

My brother isn't really too high tech so I decided to research a few things online for him regarding some mounts he could buy online. Instantly after going to Google I found tons of different sites online that offer all sorts of options (and animals) but they were pretty pricey. So I decided to check where I always check; eBay. Obviously for those of us that know eBay, we know that it's the best place to go for anything old or new and we can always expect a better price! Ya know I was looking on all these fancy shmancy sites for the mounts and they were like thousands of dollars, then I did a search on eBay and voila, same mounts, same materials, lower price! These mounts have all sorts of animals, seriously anything you want, you can have. Listed below I'll name a few just so you can get a good idea:

Coyote Head Mount Wolf Taxidermy Art 759 -
In the northeast these Huge Coyotes are known as Brush wolves! Much larger than your average Coyote. Coyote is turned to it's right. The Eyes and Ears have been set just like a Live Coyote! Compare This Coyote to any Coyote mount on EBay and see the difference. This is a High Quality mount, not to be confused with the many poor quality mounts listed on eBay. Bidding starts at $235 and buy it now is a mere $255! I'm not too fond of these mounts myself but for my brothers taste it's really nice and the Coyote really is beautiful!

African Cape Buffalo Shoulder Mount -
This is an African Cape Buffalo Shoulder Mount. The pose is perfect as well as the expression of this mount. The eyes even have the wrinkles, as would the real thing. The horns measure 78 inches in total distance. Tip-to-Tip measurement of the horns measures 22 inches. The boss of the horns measures 12 inches. The whole mount is 42 inches in height 38 inches in width, and 36 inches in depth from the wall. I know that these big game hunts can run into the thousands for the hunt and then thousands more to get them mounted. Imagine how this would look on your wall of your cabin, den, or any room in your home for that matter. The African Cape buffalo is a member of the so-called "Big Five" group of animals, along with the elephant, lion, leopard and rhino. These large and often dangerous animals capture the imagination of big game hunters everywhere. Price starts at $152!

Corsican Sheep Mount -
This is a full shoulder mount of a Corsican Ram from Greece. The taxidermy quality of this mount is average, and the mount is clean and in good overall condition. This is a fairly young Ram with average size horns. It has a beautiful black beard and a nice rusty reddish colored cape. This mount will make a wonderful decoration in any home, office, hunting lodge, lake house, or cabin, etc. Fairly priced at only $202. This one is actually pretty cool and I suggest checking it out if you get the chance!

African Addax Antelope -
This is a fantastic full shoulder mount of an Addax Antelope from Chad, North Africa. The taxidermy quality of this mount is superior and the mount is clean, smoke free, and in mint condition. This mature Bull horns are 31" x 31" inches long around the spirals. The bases are 6" x 6" inches around. He has bright distinct facial markings and a natural pose. This is a hard trophy to obtain. This mount will look fantastic in any home, office, hunting lodge, lake house, trophy room, or cabin. Price starts at $550, buy it now for $740.00!

African Warthog Boar -
This is a full shoulder mount of an average size African Warthog. The taxidermy quality of this mount is very good and the mount is clean, smoke free, and in very good overall condition. There has been some very minor repair to the ear tips. The tusks are average size and about one third of their length is inside the mouth. The Warthog won't win any beauty contest but, they are one of the worlds finest Big Game Trophy's to hunt. This mount will make a really cool decoration in any home, office, hunting lodge, lake house, or cabin, etc.

All of these are really quite amazing and would be a really nice addition to your cottage, lodge, cabin or wherever else you want to keep it. I know personally my brother really liked the Addax and the Coyote so he bought one each of those! They have others available too; porcupines, otters, 12pt buck shots, ravens, squirrels, rabbits. Pretty much anything you're interested in having, they have available to you! All it takes is a little looking around to find the perfect mount for your home! People use these mounts for all sorts of reasons but the most common reason is to give the home a really rustic decor. Although I know some guys have bought these mounts with the "It was this big" story and the fish wasn't even one they caught!
