Everyone on the planet has a craving to make money without spending any. It's a universal truth though that making money without spending any is pretty darn difficult.

However, due to the internet and the power of interactive media, we CAN make quick money online without ever spending a dime on advertising.

Now forget about online surveys or inadequate data entry programs (those are for idiots) and read what I have to say.

Introducing Affiliate Programs:
Have you ever heard about affiliate programs?

Chances are you have, but let me just quickly recap on it if for some reason your mind is a bit cloggy due to a late night behind the screen. Affiliate marketing is the process where you market other companies products on the internet. You sign up to their affiliate programs and then they will allow you to promote their products on the web for free. You'll be provided with a unique tracking link which you'll use to refer people. Once they click through the special link, the company's affiliate program will track the click through and if the visitor purchases the product on the owner's website, you'll receive a commission!

The commissions can be extremely high in some cases. Sometimes up to $200 a pop!

So how do you go about making money with these affiliate programs?

I'll give you a brief overview of how you can go about making a nice income from the comfort of your own home.

1. Sign up to an affiliate network
Sign up to an affiliate network like Clickbank, Markethealth or Commission Junction. There are several of these networks and they are filled with hundreds to even thousands of different products you can promote online.

2. Choose 3-5 products of the same type.
For example, choose 3-5 acne products. Do some research on the products and find out which one is generally regarded as the best. You can use Yahoo Answers to find out which products are generally regarded as the best in it's category.

3. Do some keyword research
Head over to Wordtracker and use their free keyword tool. If you can find it, Google it. Find out how many times people are searching for specific keywords. Type in the base keyword "acne treatment" (without quotes) and you'll see several results come up.

Here are some of the results that came up:

natural acne treatment
best acne treatments
treatments for acne scars marks
laser acne treatments
best acne treatment

4. Now head over to Google and check the competition:
Put the phrases in quotes. Check the amount of results that come up. Anything below the 30000 mark is a good target.

What you'll be doing is create pages concentrating on ranking in the search engines for each of these terms.
I'll get to the creation of these pages in a minute. Once you rank these pages you'll receive some free traffic from the search engines like Google.

5. What about page creation?

Now I would highly recommend you get hosting so that you can host your own website.But we want to get pages up and running fast. So I'll be using Squidoo to create these pages. Squidoo is absolutely free and it ranks awesome.

Here are the steps you'll need to follow to make this work.

* You'll create 1 squidoo lens that will basically review all the acne products on 1 page. You'll give the best acne treatment the best review, because you WANT people to click on that affiliate link.

* Then you need to create one squidoo page for each of the keywords that you have chosen. These squidoo lenses will act as both traffic drivers as well as pillars. They will rank in the search engines and they will also provide your main squidoo lens with traffic.

* Provide vital information on those squidoo pages. You need to fill each of your squidoo pages with content geared towards each of your keywords. Then point the user to your main squidoo lens that reviews all your products.

6. Drive Instant Traffic to your main lens:
The best way to go about this is to write articles about your topic. For acne treatments you can write articles about clearing your skin, reducing scars etc. You can easily find information on the web, but always make sure that you write the articles in your OWN words, otherwise you just might get penalized by the directories.

Submit your articles to directories like EzineArticles and GoArticles. The BEST place to submit your articles to is ArticleMarketer, but it's a paid service and it's up to you.

7. Here is what is going to happen once you do all of this:

* The articles will build backlinks to your main squidoo lens as well as your information lenses.
* The articles will drive quality TRAFFIC to your main lens.
* The information lenses will get ranked in the Search Engines over time and they will receive traffic. The traffic in turn will funnel traffic to your main lens.
* Visitors will almost ALWAYS choose the #1 ranked product and you'll receive the commission if they purchase on the other side.
